One year before, he won superior the VSN-Trophy in the Netherlands, where he achieved a 10.0 for his rideability and, prior to this, he placed in front in the 50-day test of KWPN. His former rider said about him: “The best horse I have ever ridden”. Bretton Woods is now trained by Matthias Alexander Rath, who prepares him carefully for the big sport.

Bretton Woods is a large framed stallion but at the same time is equipped with great physical harmony. Under saddle, he is fascinating to watch as he demonstrates his excellent rideability and extraordinary quality of the three paces. In 2011, he won the Bronze Medal at the World Championships of five-year-old dressage horses. Prior to that, he confidently won the 50-day test of the KWPN as well as the VSN Trophy in the Netherlands, where he was awarded a 10,0 for his rideability.

Bretton Woods’s sire Johnson, the 2005′ KWPN Champion Stallion, is himself highly successful in sport with Hans Peter Minderhoud who presented him in the final of the World Championship for Young Dressage Horses in 2007. Meanwhile, this pair could achieve winnings in Inter I competitions and is on the best way to Grand Prix level. Bretton Woods’ dam, Annabel, produced, when bred to Jazz, the licensed stallion Chagall and belongs for years time to the highest ranked mares in the KWPN breeding.

His first crop of foals turned four in 2015 and were immediately successful in ridden and dressage horse classes. In 2015, his daughter Great Lady TC was Vice-Champion at the four-year old Pavo-Cup in the Netherlands.
