Coriander was born in 1982 at Manfred Pieper’s farm in Lutjensee, Germany. The stallion was by Coriolan out of Primadonna (by Constant x Fantus x Anklang).
The licensed stallion was owned by the Holsteiner Verband. Hans-Peter Mohr, who was head trainer at the Elmshorner Dressage Stables, brought the stallion to his first Grand Prix victory at age 7. Wolfgang Schade took over the ride two years later and was quite succcessful with him at national level.
Coriander sired 11 state premium mares, three verband premium mares, and five licensed sons: Calambo, Cameron, Chagallo, Coleman und Corlino.
Calambo made his mark in the dressage ring, being trained and competed by Alexandra Simons-De Ridder and Hiroshi Hoketsu. German Annabel Frenzen won 2011 European Young Rider Kur silver with Cristobal (by Coriander x Caribo) and Christian Bruhe is competing at international Grand Prix level with Cinco de Mayo (by Coriander).
Coriander is probably best known and respected for producing the quietest minds in Holstein. He ranked as the leading sire of sporthorses for all of Germany in his age group three years in a row. He’ll produce elastic movers with deep and effective shoulders. Coriander is included in this elite list of stallions for his consistent production of stallion sons and approved daughters.
