Approved for: Holstein, Sweden
As a young stallion, then owned by VDL Stud, he was rented off to Sweden and subsequently approved as a stud. During the performance inspections, his test riders rated him a 9.9 average for jumping.
The stallion and his Swedish rider Jens Fredericson won the Swedish Nationals for 6-year-old
jumpers convincingly. In 2010 Callahan was a very successful jumper once again, this time with his Irish horseman Cameron Hanley. Together they made quite an appealing appearance in both Dresden and Hulsterlo.Looking at Callahan’s lineage, one must conclude that his jumper-genes were a given at conception. Contendro I’s sire is none other than the stallion Contender, who has made a name for himself as one of the best jumper sires in Germany.
Sire to dam Flair, a State Premium mare like her mother Ascona, For Pleasure needs no introduction. Callahan’s genetic qualities are once more emphasized by his sibling Cascade. A State Premium mare herself, she won the Hannover Championships for free-jumping at four years old. Callahan’s brother, the stallion Corinto was qualified in Hannover in 2006.
