Painted Black: the stallion who made an uproar in international competition with Anky van Grunsven.

His dam is the mare, Litchi (Keur), who competed in Z-level dressage. Litchi is by the Olympic stallion, Ferro(Keur). His grandmother also had a fruitful competitive career for several years and was labeled, “Sport.”

Numerous Z and ZZ-level dressage horses come from this bloodline.

On the FEI WBFSH list, Painted Black was the highest-ranked KWNP dressage horse.

At the age of 3, Painted Black took second place in the finals of the VSN-Troffee/dressage.
Painted Black was presented to the AES and was approved
2001: In the 2001/2002 stallion competitions, he won 3 out of 3 times at Weert, Zuidbroek, and Goes. He thus became the winner of events reserved for stallions.
Painted Black was selected to represent the Netherlands during the World Championship for young horses in Verden. Under the saddle of Hans Peter Minderhoud, Painted Black was the winner of the M-class event reserved for stallions at Zuidbroek.
Painted Black was selected to represent The Netherlands again during the World Championships for young horses ain Verden. With this success under the saddle of Anky van Grunsven, he was the vice-champion in 6 year-olds, just behind the mare, Poetin.
He had 4 victories under the saddle of Anky van Grunsven.
Approved in the KWPN
2008 Painted Black and Anky Van Grunsven won the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Spécial during the International Dressage at Cannes in France.
